Concept

Working with a well known cultural charity to create a concept for a mixed reality location based experience bringing history to life in a historicrical setting through VR on the Meta Quest 3.

My Role:

Lead Design | Narrative Design | Level Design

Using our prototype of Augmented Heritage as a springboard, this project involved in-depth design thinking into audience flow and multiple audience participation, potentially without networking and how we could deliver an impactful experience with this in consideration.  Interactions would be carried out via hand tracking and the audience would follow a linear narrative path accompanied by some un-authored content to keep the experience fresh and variable. I learned a lot about designing location based experiences through this project, as well as about the history of the Tudors!

  • Conducting research on the historic theme and how it could work in the space

  • Producing references, documentation and storyboards

  • Greyboxing and designing audience flow

  • Designing solutions for multiple audience participation

  • Script writing

Storyboarding

I sketched a number of concepts and storyboards across the project to help illustrate the design ideas as well as level flow and narrative to commicate the design vision clearly with the art and code teams
