The Brief

To create a virtual reality multiplayer horror survival game that will set a new bar for immersive co-op gameplay experiences.

My Role

Lead Design | Systems Design | Feature Design | Narrative Design

​Designing the core gameplay loop, systems, and mechanics, while directing the game’s narrative vision. Producing detailed documentation and coordinating across disciplines to ensure alignment. Collaborating with development and art teams to design and implement features, assets, and gameplay loops, while shaping objective flows and integrating mechanics directly in-engine. Ensuring players remained immersed through satisfying visual, haptic and audio feedback. This project has been an exciting and new challenge, designing gameplay scenarios to be engaged with in both single and multiplayer - I have learned a lot about designing for multiplayer and co-operative gameplay, as well as finding the "horror".

  • Creating the core gameplay loop

  • Providing narrative direction - world building, characters and game lore

  • Implementing large scale environmental puzzles 

  • Working closely with the development team to design and balance dynamic enemy behaviours, as well as curated encounters​

  • Implementing gameplay mechanics and objectives in-engine through node-based visual scripting

  • Script writing 

  • Creating objectives and gameplay scenarios that work in both single and multiplayer, adapting according to player count
